LittleM has developed a habit of needing everything that she owns on her bed with her to fall asleep. We will leave her room after reading stories and snuggling and then listen to what sounds like a herd of elephants trampling through her room for about 20 minutes after we leave. When we check on her before heading to bed for the night ourselves it’s almost like playing Where’s Waldo trying to find her on her bed.
Last night I had to wade through 10 books, a small stool, magnet dolls (they look like paper dolls made out of wood but have magnetic clothing), and her robe and slippers littered on the ground just to get to her bed to dislodge everything that she had piled on it. On top of the bed she had brought the pillow from her little princess castle in her room, the plastic bin we use to hold all the books that she had dumped all over the floor, 2 care bears, a penguin, a Rapunzel Doll from Tangled, princess bracelets, and a pillow pet. I don’t understand. I can’t imagine that sleeping with a plastic bin or plastic dolls could be that comfortable. It’s an odd routine that she has developed that hopefully will stop soon. Putting everything away in the dark is not a task that I enjoy at 11pm every night. It’s such a mystery trying to figure out what kids are thinking when they do things like this. That’s what makes it such an adventure.
If you’re looking for things to do coming up, the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts in Wilmington on March 18th from 12-3pm has a free program where kids can make art using Ice Cream. They have one free program a month too so be sure to check it out.
The Delaware Children’s Museum from March 19th -25th is celebrating Grandparents week and offering free Grandparent admission when you pay the $12 for the children you are bringing. Or on Wednesday, March 21st, from 5-7pm they are offering $2 admission for anyone that goes. Parents and children are the same cost.
Saturday, the Christiana Mall Barnes and Noble has a storytime at 11AM reading “Giraffes Can’t Dance”. I’m really looking forward to going on March 16th for the Dr. Suess Party at 7PM.
If anyone knows of any other great activity coming up, please leave a comment or send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org so that I can make sure to add it and everyone can take advantage! Have a great adventure!
